Qatar Airways Announces Major Expansion to Over 150 Destinations for Summer 2026

Qatar Airways revealed an ambitious network expansion plan on April 20, 2026. Starting from June 16, 2026, the airline will operate flights to over 150 destinations worldwide until September 15, 2026. This updated summer schedule, featuring new routes and increased flight frequencies from the airline’s hub at Hamad International Airport in Doha, is designed to cater to the surging global travel demand during the peak summer travel season.

The expansion strategy is twofold: launching new routes and enhancing frequencies on existing high-demand sectors across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. The new destinations for the summer 2026 season include:

  • Europe: 44 cities including Baku, Copenhagen, Milan, Tbilisi, Vienna, and Warsaw.
  • Africa: 25 new destinations including Abuja, Algiers, Cape Town, and Dar es Salaam.
  • Middle East: Continued operations to 24 destinations.
  • Asia: Expanded coverage to 46 destinations.
  • North America: Maintained network of 14 cities.
  • Oceania: Service to six destinations.

In addition to its network growth, Qatar Airways has introduced enhanced flexibility policies for bookings valid through September 15, 2026. Passengers can make complimentary date changes for new travel dates up to October 31, 2026, subject to availability and fare conditions. This expansion positions Qatar Airways to remain competitive while adapting to evolving travel patterns in a dynamic global environment. The airline recently received Platinum performance recognition from Cirium, a leading aviation analytics organization.
