Riviera Travel Sets Sail for North America with New Radiance-Class Ship Launch

Riviera Travel unveiled a significant expansion into the North American market on April 20, 2026. This strategic shift marks a new chapter for the U.K.-based river cruise company. The expansion features the launch of the Riviera Resplendence, a new Radiance-class river cruise ship. In 2026, it will sail the Rhine, Moselle, and Danube rivers, accommodating 178 guests in 89 cabins across three decks.

The Riviera Resplendence boasts three restaurants, including Mosaic, a specialty dining venue inspired by European rivers. It also features the line’s signature split-level lounge. Over 80% of the ship’s staterooms and suites will have floor-to-ceiling French balconies. The Grand Balcony suites, measuring 32 square meters, are Riviera’s largest to date. Additional amenities include a spa and wellness area, a pool, a bistro with an open kitchen, and a boutique gift shop. The ship is designed to meet the Gold Standard in the Green Awards programme for environmental performance.

Stuart Milan, President of North America for Riviera Travel, reported impressive growth. He stated that the company doubled passenger numbers from 2024 to 2025 and saw over 200 percent growth in just the first three months of 2026. Riviera Travel now operates 13 custom-designed ships sailing along Europe’s iconic waterways. It recently opened its North American headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. With more than 97 percent of business coming through travel advisors, Riviera Travel has incorporated feedback into onboard enhancements. The company plans nearly 200 departures throughout the 2026 season.
