Estée Lauder Unveils “Mastering Skin Longevity” Science Platform
In a landmark announcement at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (NYSE: EL) unveiled Mastering Skin Longevity, a scientific innovation platform designed to advance the future of skincare and anti-aging science.
Rather than studying individual signs of aging in isolation, the platform focuses on what the company calls “Master Regulators of Skin Longevity”—interconnected biological pathways and proteins that may influence multiple aspects of skin aging. Scientists at Estée Lauder’s Longevity Labs in Melville, New York, and Shanghai are researching three key regulators:
- Sirtuins: Cellular repair and stress response
- AMPK: Cellular energy and metabolic adaptation
- mTOR: Cellular renewal and regeneration
The platform will provide a shared scientific foundation across Estée Lauder’s brand portfolio, including La Mer, Clinique, Lab Series, and The Ordinary.
At the expo, the company also debuted the EstéeLab Longevity Mirror, an immersive experience designed to help consumers understand factors that influence how skin ages.
“Mastering Skin Longevity reflects how we are advancing the next era of skin science and innovation across our brand portfolio,” said Stéphane de La Faverie, President and CEO of The Estée Lauder Companies.
