Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines Surpass Starlink Wi-Fi Implementation Milestone Ahead of Schedule
In a significant advancement for in-flight connectivity, Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines announced on June 25, 2026, that they have successfully equipped approximately 150 aircraft across their combined fleets with high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi. This achievement, which surpasses their original rollout schedule, includes 100% of Alaska’s regional fleet and the first 50 mainline jets, along with all Hawaiian Airlines aircraft flying to and from Hawaiʻi.
The complimentary service is available to members of Atmos Rewards, the unified loyalty program shared by both carriers. This has been made possible through a strategic sponsorship with T-Mobile. Unlike traditional satellite systems, Starlink’s low-Earth orbit technology delivers low-latency speeds up to 500 Mbps. This allows passengers to stream live sports, browse, game, and work gate-to-gate — just as they would at home.
“For years, T-Mobile has played a key role in keeping our guests connected,” said Shane Jones, Senior Vice President of Fleet, Products and Guest Experience at Alaska Airlines. “We’re proud to now offer Starlink, the fastest Wi-Fi in the sky, to Atmos members for free.”
Alaska anticipates completing Starlink installation across its entire widebody fleet by autumn 2026, with full mainline coverage targeted for 2027. Non-members can still purchase access at around $8 per flight. This rollout positions Alaska and Hawaiian among the first U.S. airlines to offer ultra-fast, complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi at scale.
