Delta Air Lines Announces Largest-Ever Cabin Investment with Next-Gen Business Class

Delta Air Lines is set to make a significant mark in the aviation industry with its largest-ever cabin investment. The airline has unveiled redesigned Delta One business class suites, marking the first major upgrade to its premium offering in nearly a decade. This approximately $1 billion investment highlights the airline industry’s continued focus on capturing premium travel demand.

The new next-generation Delta One suites are set to debut in early 2027 on the airline’s incoming Airbus A350-1000 aircraft—the largest and longest-range planes in Delta’s fleet. The upgraded suites feature:

  • Beds that are three inches longer (totaling over 6.5 feet)
  • New pillow-top cushions over memory foam
  • Delta’s largest-ever 24-inch seatback screens with Bluetooth connectivity and wireless charging

“Customers are clear that comfort is their number one priority when flying Delta One—97% say Delta’s flat-bed is the reason for choosing the cabin,” said Mauricio Parise, Delta’s vice president of Brand Experience. The A350-1000 will feature 53 Delta One suites, representing a 50% premium seat mix on the aircraft.

In addition to the new suites, Delta also announced plans to retrofit its existing Airbus A330-200 and A330-300 fleet with suites featuring privacy doors for the first time. The airline expects 90% of its Delta One seats to feature sliding privacy doors by 2030. Economy passengers will also benefit from memory foam cushions, upgraded power outlets, and an extra inch of legroom across the upgraded fleet.
