Emirates Invests $3.4B in Airbus A350s at Dubai Airshow

Emirates, renowned as the world’s largest international airline, made a significant announcement at the Dubai Airshow 2025. The airline is set to purchase eight additional Airbus A350-900 aircraft, with a list price value of US$3.4 billion. These new aircraft will be equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB84 engines and are slated for delivery in 2031.

This latest order increases Emirates’ total A350-900 commitment to 73 units. The Dubai-based carrier has already received 13 of these aircraft. Coupled with the airline’s previous announcement of acquiring 65 additional Boeing 777-9 aircraft, Emirates now boasts a total of 375 next-generation widebody aircraft on order. This is one of the most substantial commitments in the history of commercial aviation.

Emirates’ Chairman and CEO, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, commented on the investment, “This is a massive investment in our future, the future of providing superior flying experiences for our customers, as well as the future of aviation in terms of job and value creation.” The A350-900 has enabled Emirates to introduce new destinations and adjust long-haul capacity more flexibly, aligning with its growth strategy.
