Japan’s November Travel Highlights: Tokyo Museum Reopens and New Marriott Comes to Kyoto

Japan is rolling out a packed November travel calendar, offering visitors an enticing mix of cultural milestones, seasonal festivals, and new luxury accommodation. At the top of the list is the highly anticipated full reopening of Tokyo’s Imperial Collections Museum. Culture lovers can look forward to this landmark event, but should expect significant crowds, as November 3 is a national holiday in Japan.

Other seasonal highlights include:

  • Korankei Momiji Festival (香嵐渓もみじまつり), Aichi Prefecture: Running throughout November at Korankei (香嵐渓), this popular autumn destination offers spectacular displays of crimson and gold foliage along the Tomoe River.
  • Sapporo Winter Illuminations: The festivities begin on November 20, with displays in Odori Park running through December 25. A Christmas market will accompany the celebrations.

On the hospitality front, the new Courtyard by Marriott Kyoto Station is set to open on November 16. The modern hotel will be steps away from one of Japan’s busiest rail hubs and Kyoto’s historic temples.

With its blend of natural wonders, cultural events, and new hotel openings, Japan is cementing its status as one of the world’s most dynamic travel destinations this autumn.
