Cirrus Aircraft Breaks Ground on $8 Million Engine Testing Facility
Cirrus Aircraft, the global leader in Personal Aviation™, has officially broken ground on a new $8 million, 15,000-square-foot Engine Run-Up Center at its headquarters in Duluth, Minnesota.
The state-of-the-art facility is designed to safely and efficiently test engine functionality, performance, and fuel calibration across the company’s full aircraft lineup, including the SR Series, Vision Jet®, and newly introduced TRAC10.
The climate-controlled, year-round facility will include:
- Two engine calibration stalls for technicians to set up, test, and adjust engines during operation.
- A separate control room to support data analysis and remote adjustments.
- Two additional stalls for aircraft fueling and defueling.
- Sound-control measures designed to reduce airport noise.
Patrick Waddick, President of Innovation & Operations at Cirrus, noted that the facility expands the company’s footprint of more than 1.3 million square feet in Duluth. Cirrus has produced more than 12,000 SR Series and Vision Jet aircraft to date.
CEO Zean Nielsen called the project a significant investment that will streamline operations and improve delivery efficiency. The Engine Run-Up Center is expected to be completed and operational by summer 2027.
