Thompson Hotels Debuts in Italy with the Opening of Thompson Rome

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has launched its lifestyle Thompson Hotels brand in Italy with the opening of Thompson Rome. The 69-room boutique hotel is set in a restored 1940s landmark on Via delle Botteghe Oscure, near Piazza Venezia and within walking distance of the Roman Forum, the Pantheon, and the Colosseum.

Owned and operated by AG Group and Rossifin Group, the hotel features 69 guestrooms and suites, including 19 suites. Its standout accommodation is the 104-square-meter Thompson Suite, which includes an 80-square-meter private terrace with panoramic rooftop views of Rome.

During the renovation, workers uncovered a sculptural wall and inlaid floor by celebrated Italian artist Gio Pomodoro. Both pieces have been preserved and incorporated into the hotel’s design.

Thompson Rome also features three food and beverage venues, LYVE Rooftop, and a rotating artist-in-residence program connecting guests with Rome’s creative community. Hyatt Chief Creative Officer Amar Lalvani described the vision as creating “a Thompson hotel that feels at home in Rome, a hotel travellers want to discover and Romans want to come back to.”
