Australia’s FlyOnE Advances Electric Aviation with MDA1 eViator Aircraft Order

Australian electric aviation pioneer FlyOnE Limited has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with German manufacturer MD Aircraft GmbH for ten all-electric MDA1 eViator aircraft. This marks a significant milestone in the push to bring zero-emission regional air travel to Australia.

The nine-passenger MDA1 eViator is designed for regional air mobility and features interchangeable batteries. FlyOnE plans to integrate the aircraft into its broad aviation ecosystem. This ecosystem spans air transport, pilot training, aerial services, and aviation infrastructure development. The company, headquartered at Jandakot Airport in Western Australia, is already recognised as a pioneer in commercially deployed electric aircraft, having logged over 1,350 electric flight hours.

MD Aircraft is targeting initial flight tests for the eViator in early 2028, with commercial certification and entry into service planned for 2030. The German manufacturer brings more than 30 years of composite aircraft design and manufacturing experience, including a decade of work in electric propulsion. No financial terms or delivery schedule were disclosed as part of the LOI.

Gregor Muller, CEO of MD Aircraft, praised FlyOnE’s pioneering role in electric aviation, calling them “an ideal partner to bring the MDA1 into commercial service.” The deal further cements Australia’s growing reputation as a testbed for next-generation sustainable aviation technologies.
