Unveiling Cirrus TRAC10: Revolutionizing Flight Training Schools

Cirrus Aircraft has officially begun accepting orders for its eagerly awaited TRAC10, a brand-new, purpose-built training aircraft engineered specifically for professional, collegiate, and career-oriented flight schools. The market response to this innovation has been overwhelming. The Duluth, Minnesota-based manufacturer has announced over 100 orders from 13 flight schools worldwide since the aircraft’s unveiling on July 6, 2026. AIN Online has confirmed that the TRAC10 is now the mainstay offering for fleet training programs.

The three-seat TRAC10 is powered by a turbocharged Rotax 916 iSc FADEC engine that produces 160 horsepower and consumes as little as 5.9 gallons per hour at 65% cruise power. It boasts a full Garmin flight deck and the iconic Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) — the same ballistic recovery parachute found on Cirrus’s SR-series aircraft. Priced at $499,900, the TRAC10 is Cirrus’s first aircraft designed entirely from scratch for pilot training missions, broadening the TRAC family beyond the existing TRAC20, TRAC22, and TRAC22T models derived from the SR20.

U.S. deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2027, with international deliveries following in 2028. The TRAC10 will be manufactured at Cirrus’s headquarters in Duluth, Minnesota. Industry analysts view the aircraft as a significant new player in the ab-initio training market, especially at a time when North America is projected to need more than 130,000 new pilots over the next decade.
