Singapore Airlines Announces Daily Flights and Unveils New Madrid Route This Summer

Singapore Airlines (SIA) is set to undertake its most significant European network expansion in years. This ambitious plan includes major route upgrades and a landmark new service to Madrid, Spain—a city the airline last served in 2004. These strategic moves aim to leverage the record-high demand for Europe-Asia travel, especially in the wake of disruptions affecting Middle Eastern carrier routes.

Beginning July 13, 2026, the airline’s Singapore–Manchester service will transition to a daily schedule, up from the current five flights per week. Additionally, flight frequencies to London Gatwick, Milan, and Munich will be progressively increased.

Then, starting from October 26, 2026, SIA will introduce a new five-times-weekly Singapore–Barcelona–Madrid route. This service will be operated by an Airbus A350-900, equipped with 42 Business Class, 24 Premium Economy, and 187 Economy seats. This addition will make Madrid SIA’s 15th European destination.

Dai Haoyu, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning at Singapore Airlines, highlighted the “strong demand for travel to Europe.” He also noted that Madrid is becoming “an increasingly popular tourist destination, as well as a financial and business hub.” With the expanded Amsterdam services using both the A350-900 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, the upgrades will provide travelers with up to six daily connections between Singapore and London. Tickets for the new Madrid service are currently available for purchase through SIA’s distribution channels.
