Apple’s First Touchscreen MacBook Pro Is Here — Starting at $2,899
Apple has officially reversed its long-held stance against touchscreen laptops with the launch of the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display—the company’s first Mac notebook with a touchscreen. The groundbreaking machine went on sale on November 6, 2026, with the first preorder deliveries arriving the same day.
The new MacBook Pro is available in two sizes:
- 14-inch: starting at $2,899
- 16-inch: starting at $3,399
Both configurations are powered by Apple’s M5 Pro or M5 Max chips and support up to 128GB of unified memory and 16TB of storage. The PROLED XDR Display offers 2,000 nits of peak brightness and a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio. To support touch interaction, Apple engineered a special hinge that stabilizes the screen when users tap it.
The launch marks Apple’s third major hardware debut under new CEO John Ternus and signals an accelerating pace for Mac innovation. Nearly a decade after the Touch Bar experiment, Apple is making a full commitment to touch on the Mac. The machine also features a revamped six-speaker audio system with a new woofer design.
Connectivity includes:
- Three Thunderbolt 5 ports
- HDMI
- SDXC card slot
- MagSafe
- Headphone jack
