Learjet 60 Crashes Into Florida Neighborhood, Killing All Nine Aboard

A Bombardier Learjet 60 operated by Aurora Aviation, doing business as Upper Jets, crashed into a residential neighborhood in Palm Beach County, Florida, on November 1, 2026, killing all nine people aboard.

The aircraft had departed from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was bound for North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas. It went down near Greenacres at approximately 12:50 p.m. local time.

In air traffic control audio, the crew reported encountering light clear ice, moderate turbulence, and an overspeed condition before the aircraft entered a rapid descent. Moments before impact, a female voice was heard saying:

“We’re gonna crash into the ground.”

The jet nosedived and erupted into a fireball on a busy roadway.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched a full go-team investigation. NTSB Board Member Tom Chapman said preliminary evidence points to an in-flight structural breakup before impact. NTSB investigator-in-charge Timothy Manville noted that recovering wreckage from a water-filled impact crater poses a significant challenge.

Weather conditions are a major focus of the investigation. The FAA is supporting the probe, and Learjet manufacturer Bombardier has pledged its full cooperation.
