Apple has officially launched its highly anticipated ‘Pro and Tell’ product week, beginning with the unveiling of the all-new iPad mini 8 — the most significant update to the compact tablet lineup in years. Apple’s Senior VP of Marketing, Greg Joswiak, confirmed the launch, describing it as “the biggest update ever to iPad mini.”

The new iPad mini features a first-ever OLED display, delivering deeper blacks and richer colors compared to its LCD predecessor. It is powered by Apple’s latest A20 Pro chip, boasts improved water and dust resistance, a redesigned speaker system with under-display audio, and a repositioned front-facing camera optimized for landscape use. The device starts at $699, with pre-orders opening Wednesday, October 28.

But the iPad mini is just the opening act. Apple’s two-day media experience in Los Angeles on October 28 is expected to showcase the biggest hardware reveal of 2026: a fully redesigned touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro — something Apple has resisted for years — along with an M6 iMac and an M6 14-inch MacBook Pro. The event marks Apple’s second major product launch in October alone, continuing its most aggressive hardware rollout season in recent memory.
