Archer Aviation’s all-electric Midnight air taxi has wrapped up a historic demonstration tour across the San Francisco Bay Area and is now heading south to Los Angeles as the company gears up for the White House’s eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP).

The Northern California leg of Archer’s “No Roads” tour covered more than 200 miles across seven cities over three days, with Midnight reaching a top speed of 131 mph (211 km/h). The aircraft journeyed from Salinas through Hollister, San Martin, San Jose, Mountain View, Hayward, and finally Oakland International Airport (OAK), where it completed multiple piloted flights over San Francisco Bay — including a trip from Oakland to San Francisco’s Marina District in approximately 10 minutes, a journey that can take over an hour by car.

The flights were designed to demonstrate Midnight’s ability to operate safely alongside conventional aviation traffic in some of North America’s most complex airspace — surrounding three major international airports. Archer CEO Adam Goldstein said the goal was to prove urban air mobility can connect communities with no roads, no traffic, and no emissions.

With Los Angeles next on the itinerary, the stakes are high: Archer is the official air taxi provider of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the city demos are a critical step toward commercial readiness before the 2028 event.
