Boston Logan Introduces America’s Premier Remote TSA Checkpoint: The “Straight-to-Gate” Experience
A groundbreaking travel experience was officially unveiled at Boston Logan International Airport on June 1, 2026. This innovative service allows passengers to clear TSA security at a location 25 miles away from the airport and arrive directly at their gate. The pioneering “Straight-to-Gate” pilot program, a collaborative effort between the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), is available to Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways passengers departing Logan between 5:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Eligible travelers can visit the Logan Airport Remote Terminal at 19 Flutie Pass in Framingham, Massachusetts. Here, they can check their bags, obtain their boarding passes, and pass through a full TSA security checkpoint — including TSA PreCheck lanes. Afterward, they board a secure shuttle bus operated by The Landline Company. This shuttle drops them off ramp-side inside Boston Logan’s secure airside area, enabling them to walk directly to their gate without a second screening.
The shuttle service costs $9 per adult, with parking at the remote facility priced at $7 per day. The program’s inception was largely due to the historically long security wait times experienced this spring. These delays were a result of TSA staffing shortages during a partial government shutdown.
Massport CEO Rich Davey heralded the program as “part of Massport’s broader vision to reimagine the travel experience.” He added that passengers in Metro West now have “a new, low-stress way to reach Boston Logan.” The pilot is set to run through August 31, 2026, with plans to evaluate broader implementation — and potentially extend it to additional airlines — if successful. Already, eight airports have been approved for the concept nationwide.
