Preventative Beauty Approach Adopted by 80% of Adults, Reveals Boots Report
A sweeping shift is underway in how people think about skincare — and the numbers are striking. Boots, the UK’s leading beauty retailer, has released its 2026 Beauty & Wellness Trends Report, drawing on exclusive data from over 17 million active Advantage Card holders. The findings point to a generation increasingly investing in their skin for the long haul.
According to the report, a remarkable 80% of adults are now adopting a preventative approach to their beauty routines, prioritizing consistent, long-term care over reactive solutions. A full 60% of consumers say healthy ageing is their top priority. The data is backed up by surging sales: collagen product sales at Boots rose 62% year on year, while searches for longevity ingredient NAD+ skyrocketed by 227% on boots.com. Searches for electrolytes on the Boots website even jumped by a staggering 755%, prompting the launch of a new own-brand wellness range, Wellthy by Boots.
K-Beauty continues to be a dominant force, with sales at Boots rising fivefold in a single year — a Korean skincare product is now sold at Boots every 11 seconds. Trending ingredients include PDRN, centella asiatica, and exosomes, with the category expanding into K-Fragrance and K-Pharmacy. The report also highlights a growing interest in psychodermatology and neurocosmetics — mood-enhancing beauty products that activate the skin-brain axis — with 1 in 2 consumers willing to swap their current products for mood-boosting alternatives. The message from the data is clear: beauty in 2026 is no longer just about looking good — it’s about longevity, resilience, and wellbeing from the inside out.
