Apple Reveals Revolutionary ‘Siri AI’ at WWDC 2026, Powered by Google Gemini

Apple has taken a bold step in the field of AI at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026, held on June 8. The tech giant introduced a complete overhaul of its voice assistant, now rebranded as “Siri AI.” This revamped assistant, driven by Google Gemini, boasts a standalone app, real-time on-screen awareness, and the capability to engage in multi-turn conversations by pulling context from a user’s emails, messages, and photos.

Craig Federighi, Apple’s SVP of Software Engineering, showcased how Siri can now manage complex, chained requests. For instance, it can read a restaurant name from a screenshot and instantly draft a reservation message. The new Siri is integrated directly into the Dynamic Island and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro.

Along with this, the update also rolled out iOS 27, promising up to 30% faster app launches and compatibility with devices as old as the iPhone 11. macOS 27, codenamed “Golden Gate,” completely phases out Intel support. It’s important to note that Siri AI will initially launch as an English-only beta in the U.S. later this year. Due to regulatory constraints, it will not be available in the EU or China at launch.

The event also signified a personal milestone: it was CEO Tim Cook’s final WWDC before he passes the baton to hardware chief John Ternus on September 1, 2026.
