Pilatus PC-12 PRO Simulator Earns FAA & EASA Approval
Pilatus recently announced the certification of its brand new PC-12 PRO flight simulator. This cutting-edge device has received approval from both the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for formal pilot training programs.
The high-fidelity simulator perfectly replicates the PC-12 PRO’s updated Garmin G3000 PRIME cockpit, providing comprehensive training for normal, abnormal, and weather-related scenarios. The device is recognized as a Level 2 Flight Training Device by EASA and as a Level 6 Flight Training Device by the FAA.
In the United States, SIMCOM will provide training using the simulator at its facilities. The system is designed to mirror the PC-12 PRO’s advanced avionics environment, enabling pilots to train in realistic conditions while reducing the need for in-aircraft flight time.
- For pilots transitioning from earlier PC-12 models such as the NG and NGX, the simulator supports differences training and aids in lowering overall training costs.
Pilatus highlighted that increased simulator use can contribute to reduced emissions compared to traditional in-aircraft instruction. The first full-motion PC-12 PRO simulator is currently in production and is expected to be operational in 2028 at Fly7’s training center at Lausanne Airport in Switzerland.
