Former Amazon Beauty Executive, Melis del Rey, Takes the Helm at Supergoop!

Supergoop!, a beauty brand with a focus on SPF, has announced the appointment of former Amazon Health & Beauty executive Melis del Rey as its new Chief Executive Officer and Board Director. The appointment, effective from December 8, 2024, will see del Rey relocate from Seattle to New York to assume her new role. With over two decades of experience in the global beauty and consumer products industry, del Rey brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the position.

Del Rey’s most recent role was as General Manager of Amazon U.S. Health and Beauty, where she is credited with transforming the e-commerce platform into a dominant force in the prestige beauty market. Her leadership saw Amazon attract major luxury brands, including:

  • L’Oréal Luxe
  • Estée Lauder Companies
  • Clinique (which launched on the platform in 2024)

Prior to this, del Rey held senior marketing and sales roles at Procter & Gamble, working with renowned brands such as Pantene, Olay, and Herbal Essences.

“Supergoop! is one of those rare brands that defines a category rather than simply participating in it,” said del Rey.

This appointment brings a sense of leadership stability to Supergoop! following recent executive changes. Gregory Polcer will continue as a board member, having served as interim CEO since May 2024. Founded in 2005, Supergoop! is backed by private equity firm Blackstone and is committed to making daily SPF adoption both accessible and enjoyable.
