Ancient Ethereum Whale Resurfaces After Nine Years, Transfers $3.94M
An Ethereum whale of legendary status, dormant since 2016, has recently stirred. The whale transferred a staggering 1,300 ETH, equivalent to $3.94 million, to the Wintermute trading platform. Identified by the address 0x95Bf4d908f60047D689E5fA3c080045b0C3A90e7, the whale had originally amassed ETH at a mean price of $203.22 per coin during Ethereum’s nascent days.
This recent transaction signifies an astounding 1,391% return on investment over a span of nine years. The whale has thereby secured an approximate profit of $3.676 million from this single transfer alone.
This transaction is not an isolated event but part of a larger pattern. The whale has deposited a total of 6,000 ETH (valued at $18.16 million) to Wintermute since November 17, 2025. The average price during these transactions was $3,026.77.
The whale’s re-emergence coincides with Ethereum testing crucial resistance levels. The cryptocurrency recently experienced a 17% bounce from support levels around $2,626-$2,628. Market analysts are keenly observing whether ETH can breach the $3,170-$3,356 resistance zone.
