Anthropic IPO Filing Warns AI Could Soon Accelerate Its Own Research

In an amended IPO prospectus, Claude maker Anthropic warned that future AI models may be nearing a critical threshold—one that could dramatically accelerate AI-driven research. The updated Form S-1/A, filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on November 2, 2026, adds risk-factor language tied to the company’s Responsible Scaling Policy (RSP).

Anthropic says upcoming models may soon meet the benchmark associated with “dramatically accelerated AI progress.” Reaching that threshold would trigger more comprehensive internal safety reviews.

The filing also reported $33.2 billion in revenue for the first nine months of 2026, including $17.0 billion in the third quarter. Anthropic said that, since April 2026, the internal use of Claude at list prices has exceeded the company’s entire payroll—a milestone in AI-augmented productivity.

The company is targeting a mid-November 2026 debut on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol ANT, with a roadshow potentially beginning as early as November 10. The IPO is drawing close attention, with Anthropic’s valuation expected to reach into the trillions.
