Flight Schools Welcome Cirrus TRAC10: Over 100 Orders Already Secured
Cirrus Aircraft has officially started accepting orders for its purpose-built flight training aircraft, the TRAC10. This aircraft, specifically designed for professional flight schools, was unveiled in July 2026 and is the latest addition to the TRAC trainer family from the Duluth, Minnesota-based manufacturer.
The TRAC10, a three-seater, is powered by a 160-horsepower turbocharged Rotax 916 iSc FADEC engine. It features a full Garmin flight deck and includes the signature Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) — the first built-in whole-aircraft parachute system in its trainer class. The aircraft is fuel-efficient, burning as little as 5.9 gallons per hour at 65% cruise power. It is certified to run on multiple fuel types including 100LL AvGas, unleaded 91/94, and select Mogas blends. This provides a significant operational cost advantage for fleet operators. The base price for the TRAC10 is set at $499,900.
More than 100 orders from 13 professional flight schools worldwide have already been secured by Cirrus. U.S. deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027, with international deliveries following in 2028. CEO Zean Nielsen described the TRAC10 as “our most deliberate answer yet to what professional flight schools need to succeed.” This comes at a time when the industry is facing a demand for over 130,000 new pilots in North America over the next decade.
