Legal AI Pioneer Harvey Reaches $15.5B Valuation Following $550M Funding Round

Legal artificial intelligence pioneer Harvey has successfully closed a colossal $550 million funding round. This has propelled its valuation to a staggering $15.5 billion, solidifying its status as the world’s most valued and well-funded legal AI enterprise. The round was spearheaded by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Diffusion, a fresh investment firm co-founded by Kris Fredrickson, a long-standing Harvey supporter, with contributions from Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, Andreessen Horowitz, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, among others.

Since its inception in 2022, the San Francisco-based firm has amassed over $1.5 billion in funding. Its valuation has seen a meteoric rise from $3 billion just last year. Harvey’s annual recurring revenue has surpassed $400 million, and its customer base has more than tripled since March 2026. It now caters to over 3,000 organizations, including 80% of the Am Law 100 law firms and five Fortune 10 companies such as Microsoft’s in-house legal team.

The fresh capital injection will be utilized to enhance Harvey’s proprietary AI models and broaden its platform. The platform aids law firms in automating document review, contract analysis, and legal research. This funding round follows the unveiling of Harvey’s first post-trained open-weight model and the introduction of Harvey LAB (Legal Agent Benchmark). Co-founders Winston Weinberg and Gabe Pereyra envision the company as the preferred AI partner for the global legal industry.
