General Aviation Billings Soar to $14.3B in H1 2026: GAMA Report
The general aviation industry posted robust financial results through the first six months of 2026. The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) reported a sharp rise in aircraft billings, even as piston-airplane deliveries dipped slightly.
As per GAMA’s Second Quarter 2026 Aircraft Shipment and Billing Report, manufacturers shipped 1,458 airplanes through June. This represents a 1.7% increase over the same period in 2025. Meanwhile, total airplane billings surged 15.5% to $14.3 billion.
The standout segments were business jets and turboprops. Business jets climbed 8.2% to 383 aircraft, and turboprops were up 7.8% to 289 deliveries. Piston-airplane shipments were the only segment in the red, slipping 3.1% to 786 aircraft.
Cirrus Aircraft led all GA airplane manufacturers with 405 total shipments, including 57 SF50 Vision Jets and 196 turbocharged SR22s. Textron Aviation followed with 333 shipments. Gulfstream delivered 79 aircraft, Embraer 74, and Bombardier 56.
On the rotorcraft side, helicopter manufacturers reported 419 civil deliveries — a 4% increase from the first half of 2025. Airbus Helicopters led in both units and billing value at $948.4 million.
