Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines Achieve 150-Aircraft Starlink Wi-Fi Milestone
In a landmark move for American aviation, Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines announced on June 25, 2026, that they have successfully equipped approximately 150 aircraft across their combined fleets with high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi. This achievement puts them ahead of their own rollout schedule.
The milestone covers 100% of Alaska’s regional fleet and the first 50 mainline jets, plus all Hawaiian Airlines aircraft flying to and from Hawaiʻi. The free, ultra-fast inflight internet service is powered through a strategic sponsorship with T-Mobile and is available exclusively to members of Atmos Rewards, the unified loyalty programme shared by both carriers. Membership is free, meaning any traveller can sign up before or during their flight at no cost.
“We’re proud to now offer Starlink, the fastest Wi-Fi in the sky, to Atmos members for free,” said Shane Jones, Senior Vice President of Fleet, Products and Guest Experience at Alaska Airlines. The service supports streaming, gaming, messaging, and browsing across multiple devices simultaneously, with expected speeds of up to 500 Mbps.
Alaska Air Group plans to complete installation across its entire widebody fleet — including long-haul Boeing 787-9 routes — by autumn 2026, with full mainline fleet coverage targeted for 2027. A newly designed onboard Wi-Fi portal is being rolled out across Starlink-equipped flights this month, with full standardisation expected by mid-July 2026.
