Jersey’s Air Travel Sector Soars with 2.2% Growth, Bolstered by New KLM Amsterdam Routes

Jersey’s air travel sector has seen a promising surge in the first quarter of 2026. Passenger numbers have risen by 2.2% compared to the same period in 2025. This growth is fueled by the introduction of strategic new routes and the reinstatement of seasonal services.

One of the key developments contributing to this growth is the addition of KLM flights to Amsterdam. These flights offer seamless connections to over 160 destinations worldwide. The new direct routes have greatly improved accessibility for Jersey travelers, simplifying access to key international hubs and enhancing the island’s appeal as a travel destination.

Paul Holley, the Head of Connectivity at Ports of Jersey, has commented on the importance of these new routes. He emphasized how these changes have significantly improved travel options for both islanders and visitors. The early-year growth was labeled as “very encouraging“, reflecting optimism about Jersey’s aviation sector in 2026.

The increase in passengers signifies a promising trend for Jersey’s air travel sector. It underscores the island’s improved connectivity and the growing demand for international travel. The introduction of new UK and European routes, along with seasonal services, has significantly boosted traveler numbers during peak periods.
