BTS’s Comeback Tour Ignites Unprecedented Travel Boom to South Korea

The announcement of BTS’s first world tour in four years has triggered an extraordinary surge in travel bookings to South Korea. Accommodation searches to concert destinations have skyrocketed, according to data released by digital travel platform Agoda on April 2, 2026.

The K-pop supergroup’s tour kicks off in Goyang on April 9 and continues April 11-12. This city saw accommodation searches spike nearly 8 times on the day of the tour announcement compared to the week before. Busan, hosting concerts on June 12-13, recorded a 47% increase in searches as fans worldwide began planning their trips.

The strongest international demand for South Korean tour dates is coming from Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and China. Searches from the Philippines increased by over 7 times, while Hong Kong recorded a remarkable 145% rise. When focusing specifically on concert dates, accommodation searches for Goyang rose nearly 185 times among regional travelers.

The tour’s impact extends beyond South Korea. Among South Korean travelers searching outbound destinations after the announcement, Kuala Lumpur saw the largest rise in accommodation searches at 22%, followed by Melbourne at 16%, Bangkok at 15%, Kaohsiung at 10%, and Singapore at 9%. This marks BTS’s highly anticipated return after a four-year hiatus, positioning 2026 as a defining year for music-driven tourism in the Asia-Pacific region.
