AMD Posts Record Q3 Revenue as AI Chip Demand Soars
Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) delivered a blockbuster third-quarter 2026 earnings report, posting record revenue of $13.38 billion—a 45% increase year over year. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $2.09, beating Wall Street’s consensus estimates of $1.94 per share and $13.09 billion in revenue.
The standout performer was AMD’s Data Center segment, where revenue surged 97% year over year to a record $8.55 billion. Growth was fueled by demand for AMD’s Instinct MI450 Series GPUs and EPYC CPUs used in AI infrastructure.
“We delivered a record quarter with revenue exceeding the high end of our guidance as Data Center segment sales nearly doubled year over year,” said CEO Dr. Lisa Su.
Looking ahead, AMD forecast Q4 2026 revenue of approximately $17 billion, above analyst expectations of $16.23 billion—a sign that demand for AI chips may continue to accelerate.
AMD shares surged nearly 8% following the results. The company’s stock had gained approximately 127% year to date heading into the earnings report, underscoring its position in the AI semiconductor race.
