Home Depot’s Q2 2026 Sales Soar to $47.9B, Surpassing Expectations
Home Depot (NYSE: HD) showcased a robust fiscal second-quarter performance, with results announced on Tuesday that surpassed Wall Street’s top and bottom line expectations, triggering a rise in shares during premarket trading.
The home improvement behemoth reported net sales of $47.86 billion for Q2 fiscal 2026, marking a 5.7% increase year-over-year. The company’s comparable sales saw a rise of 1.7%, significantly higher than the 0.9% anticipated by analysts. This represents the strongest comparable sales figure since Q3 of fiscal 2022. Adjusted earnings per share reached $4.92, outperforming the consensus estimate of $4.73 by 4%.
Online sales maintained their upward trajectory, with a surge of 11% marking the fifth consecutive quarter of double-digit digital growth. Home Depot also broadened its Express Delivery service nationwide and reported enhancements in same-day and next-day delivery metrics. Demand was widespread, with 13 out of 16 merchandising departments recording positive comparable sales.
CFO Richard McPhail recognized the company’s ongoing operations in what he termed as “frozen housing market conditions”. However, he highlighted that Home Depot is acquiring market share. The company reaffirmed its full fiscal-year 2026 guidance, forecasting total sales growth of approximately 2.5% to 4.5%. It also plans to inaugurate around 15 new stores during the year.
