Cirrus Aircraft Introduces TRAC10: Revolutionizing Flight Training
Cirrus Aircraft has just revolutionized the flight training world with the unveiling of its brand-new TRAC10. This purpose-built training airplane is specifically designed for professional, collegiate, and career-oriented flight schools. Announced on July 6, 2026, the TRAC10 represents a clean-sheet design that Cirrus claims to be its “most deliberate answer yet” to the needs of successful flight schools.
The heart of the aircraft is a 160-horsepower turbocharged Rotax 916 iSc FADEC engine. Remarkably, it burns as little as 5.9 gallons per hour at cruise and accepts multiple fuel types, including 100LL avgas and lower-cost unleaded alternatives.
The TRAC10 boasts a three-seat cabin — the widest in its class. This pairs a Garmin flight deck with a rear observer station fitted with a configurable display. This setup enables crew-based training with the instructor, student, and observer all fully engaged.
Safety is a central focus in the design of the TRAC10. The aircraft includes the iconic Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS), Electronic Stability & Protection (ESP), airline-style stick shakers, and a cuffed-wing design to maximize spin resistance.
The aircraft will be manufactured at Cirrus headquarters in Duluth, Minnesota. U.S. deliveries are expected to begin in 2027, followed by international deliveries in 2028. With a starting price of $499,900, the TRAC10 has already secured over 100 orders from 13 professional flight schools worldwide. This is a clear indication of the market’s appetite for a modern, safety-first trainer.
