Nebius Group Announces Major Expansion with 1.2GW Pennsylvania Site and a 684% Revenue Surge
Nebius Group, a leading AI cloud infrastructure company, revealed on May 13, 2026, a significant expansion of its U.S. data center footprint. The company has secured up to 1.2 gigawatts of power and land for a new, owned AI factory in Pennsylvania.
This announcement coincided with the company’s impressive first-quarter 2026 results. Nebius Group reported a 684% year-over-year revenue surge to $399 million, surpassing analyst expectations. The company also posted a net income of $621.2 million, a substantial turnaround from a loss of $104.3 million a year earlier. This financial success is partially attributed to the strong demand for AI computing infrastructure.
The Pennsylvania site represents Nebius’s second gigawatt-scale location in the United States. This follows the company’s Independence, Missouri facility, where construction began on May 12, 2026. Key details about the Missouri campus include:
- It spans approximately 400 acres
- It is expected to create 1,200 construction jobs
- It will provide 130 permanent positions
Nebius raised $6.3 billion in the quarter, including a $2 billion equity investment from Nvidia. This funding will support the company’s race to build out AI infrastructure capacity. Additionally, Nebius disclosed a $27 billion agreement with Meta to supply computing capacity over the next five years.
Originally a part of Russian internet giant Yandex, Nebius is now positioning itself as a major player in the AI infrastructure buildout. The company competes with firms like CoreWeave to provide GPU-based computing power for AI developers and enterprises.
