BOND Amplifies Bombardier Commitment to a Whopping $5B for High-End Aviation

Private aviation startup, BOND, has recently announced a significant expansion of its Bombardier commitment to a staggering $5 billion. This represents one of the largest orders in the history of business aviation. The KKR-backed fractional ownership company revealed on April 14, 2026, that it is upgrading 24 aircraft options to the flagship Global 8000 model and adding four new firm orders.

The Global 8000, touted as the world’s fastest civilian aircraft since the Concorde, can fly at nearly Mach 0.95 with a range of 8,000 nautical miles. BOND is strategically positioning itself to cater exclusively to ultra-wealthy travelers. Founding members are not only purchasing fractional interests but also co-investing in the company itself.

“This acceleration underscores the market’s high demand for bespoke business travel offerings,” said Éric Martel, President and CEO of Bombardier. The expansion comes as BOND prepares to launch operations in early 2027. The total funding has reached $440 million, which includes equity from KKR and founding members.
