Amorepacific’s Skinsight: An Award-Winning Electronic Skin Sensor

South Korean beauty titan, Amorepacific, has recently revealed Skinsight. This groundbreaking “electronic skin” platform was co-developed with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The innovation has earned a CES 2026 Innovation Award in the Beauty Tech category, marking the company’s seventh consecutive year of CES recognition.

The avant-garde technology comprises of three key components:

  • An ultra-thin wearable sensor patch
  • A compact Bluetooth transmission module
  • An AI-powered mobile application

The high-sensitivity strain sensor adheres directly to the skin, detecting micrometer-level changes in key aging factors. These include skin tightness, UV and blue light exposure, temperature, and moisture. The sensor transmits data in real time.

The platform scrutinizes multiple aging factors linked with consumers’ lifestyles and environments. Examples are smoking or UV exposure. It then predicts changes in skin aging. The AI processes the measured data to deliver highly personalized skincare recommendations and product routines. These are tailored to individual users’ specific needs and conditions.

Moreover, Amorepacific showcased an AI skin analysis solution, created in collaboration with Samsung Electronics. This technology is integrated into Samsung’s AI Beauty Mirror. It aims to provide personalized skincare by analyzing real-time skin data and recommending tailored product and device routines.

This innovation caters to consumers’ growing demand for targeted skin interventions. It signifies the beauty industry’s shift towards diagnostic, predictive, and device-led solutions that merge cosmetics and medical technology.
