Expanded Domestic Network by American Airlines: New Routes from Chicago and Los Angeles
American Airlines has recently announced a significant expansion of its domestic network. This expansion includes new year-round and seasonal routes from its hubs in Chicago and Los Angeles, with a launch set for spring 2026.
The carrier will introduce a twice-daily, year-round service from Chicago O’Hare to Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Columbia, South Carolina, starting May 21, 2026. Additionally, a daily seasonal service to Kahului, Hawaii, will be available from December 17 through March 2027.
From Los Angeles, American Airlines will debut daily, year-round flights to Cleveland, Ohio, and Washington, DC, beginning April 7, 2026. These new routes are part of the airline’s broader strategy to enhance connectivity across the United States. In fact, Chicago O’Hare is expected to see over 500 peak daily departures planned for spring.
“Air travel is about more than just flying from one place to another; it’s a symphony of travelers eagerly looking forward to seeing friends and family, crossing off bucket-list vacations and making a difference with face-to-face business meetings,” said Brian Znotins, American’s senior vice president of network and schedule planning.
The new service will be available for booking starting January 26, 2026.
