Boeing Set to Ramp Up 737 MAX Production to 42 Jets Monthly

Boeing, the aerospace giant, is gearing up to escalate the production of its sought-after 737 MAX aircraft. The current production cap stands at 38 jets, but plans are underway to increase this to 42 jets per month by October 2025, as per insiders privy to the company’s strategies.

This production surge signifies a pivotal stride in Boeing’s resurgence following the January 2024 incident involving an Alaska Airlines door plug. This incident led to the FAA imposing the current production cap. The company’s roadmap includes maintaining the 42-jet rate for roughly six months before petitioning for further increases. The long-term objective is to reach a production rate of 53 aircraft per month by the end of 2026.

The FAA spokesperson emphasized that “Safety drives everything we do,” ensuring continued supervision of Boeing’s production procedures. This production hike is vital for Boeing to alleviate debt, enhance cash flow, and vie with Airbus’s A320neo family.

Recent international orders from airlines based in China, Uzbekistan, and Turkey have bolstered the demand for the 737 MAX. Currently, Boeing has approximately 4,200 outstanding orders for the aircraft.
