McLaren’s CEO Zak Brown Secures a Whopping $50M Following F1 Championship Triumph
In 2024, Zak Brown, the CEO of McLaren Racing, pocketed a staggering £37.3 million ($50.3 million) after the team clinched their first Formula One constructors’ championship since 1998. This monumental achievement positioned him among the highest-paid executives in the sports industry.
The substantial increase in his remuneration, which saw a leap from £26.4 million the previous year, was largely due to share-based payments. This came as McLaren’s total management compensation doubled to £75.7 million. The team’s financial triumph was a direct reflection of their dominant performance on the track, where they overcame early-season hurdles to secure the championship title.
The enormous payday is indicative of McLaren’s skyrocketing valuation, which now stands at an impressive $4.1 billion following recent stake sales. The team recently inked a $100 million annual naming partnership with Mastercard commencing in 2026, marking their first title sponsorship in over a decade.
With McLaren maintaining their dominant form into 2025, securing 12 wins in 15 races, it is clear that Brown’s strategic leadership has metamorphosed the iconic racing brand into one of F1’s most valuable franchises.
