Belize Announces New Maya Exhibits, Luxury Resorts and Easier UK Flights

Belize City, Belize — The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) has announced a major wave of tourism developments for 2027, unveiled this week at World Travel Market London 2026. The country is introducing new cultural attractions, boutique and luxury resort openings, and improved air connectivity—making Belize easier to reach, especially for travellers from the United Kingdom.

Key developments include:

  • A new Maya archaeological exhibition at Caracol Archaeological Reserve, one of Central America’s most impressive ancient sites.
  • New boutique and luxury resorts in regions including Hopkins, a coastal village known for its Garifuna cultural heritage, traditional music and local cuisine.
  • The return of Air Canada’s seasonal Montréal–Belize City route, improving connections for visitors travelling from the UK.

The exhibition is designed to broaden Belize’s appeal to experience-led and heritage travellers. The BTB says the new developments remain aligned with its commitment to cultural preservation, environmental protection and community participation.

The resort openings signal growing investor confidence in Belize’s sustainable tourism model. In Hopkins, visitors can experience the area’s distinctive Garifuna heritage alongside its coastal setting.

For UK visitors, Air Canada’s seasonal Montréal–Belize City route returns on 6 December 2026, operating weekly on Mondays. The service enables same-day arrivals from London Heathrow and regional UK airports, eliminating the need for an overnight layover through the United States.

As the only English-speaking country in Central America, Belize offers British travellers an accessible destination for exploring Caribbean beaches, rainforests and ancient Maya heritage.
