AMD Posts Record $13.4B Q3 Revenue as AI Chip Demand Surges
Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) delivered the largest and most profitable quarter in company history, reporting third-quarter 2026 revenue of $13.4 billion—a 45% increase year over year—driven by explosive demand for AI infrastructure chips.
AMD’s Data Center segment led the way, nearly doubling to a record $8.5 billion, up 97% year over year. Growth was driven by strong sales of fifth-generation EPYC processors and the newly launched Instinct MI450 Series GPUs, which began shipping during the quarter to customers including Anthropic, Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI, and Oracle.
On a non-GAAP basis, AMD reported earnings per share of $2.09, beating Wall Street estimates of $1.94 by nearly 8%. Shares jumped more than 6% in after-hours trading following the results.
CEO Lisa Su signaled stronger growth ahead, with fourth-quarter 2026 revenue guidance of approximately $17 billion—a 66% year-over-year increase at the midpoint—as the company scales its next-generation Helios and Venice platforms.
The results cement AMD’s position as a formidable challenger in the AI accelerator market as global demand for data center compute continues to soar.
