Lady Gaga Takes the Helm as CEO of Haus Labs

In a bold move sending ripples through the beauty industry, Lady Gaga has officially stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer at Haus Labs, the cosmetics brand she founded in 2019. Effective immediately, Gaga will lead commercial operations and business strategy, building on her existing involvement in the brand’s creative direction and product development.

The appointment follows the departure of co-founder and former CEO Ben Jones earlier this month. Before helping Gaga build Haus Labs, Jones served as Chief Digital Officer at The Honest Company.

The brand first launched exclusively on Amazon as Haus Laboratories. It later rebranded as Haus Labs by Lady Gaga and relaunched through a major partnership with Sephora in June 2022, shifting its focus toward clean, vegan formulations.

The leadership change also follows controversy over the brand’s planned Sun Dipped Bronzing Veil launch, which drew public criticism over shade inclusivity. Gaga issued a public apology, and the brand paused and reworked the launch.

Taking the CEO role further signals Gaga’s intent to be hands-on at a pivotal moment for the business. In August 2026, Gaga and entrepreneur Michael Polansky also publicly introduced Outer Bio, a biotechnology company focused on skin health research, expanding her interests in the beauty and wellness space.
