Archer Aviation Unveils Electric Air Taxi Networks Across the Texas Triangle

Archer Aviation (NYSE: ACHR) has announced plans for three all-electric air taxi networks across the Texas Triangle, serving Austin, Dallas–Fort Worth, and Houston. The proposal marks one of the most ambitious urban air mobility expansions announced in the United States to date.

Using its four-passenger Midnight eVTOL aircraft, Archer aims to reduce typical 60–90-minute road commutes to flights of just 10–20 minutes. The proposed networks include:

  • Dallas–Fort Worth: Connections between DFW International Airport, Dallas Love Field, and Addison Airport, with service to destinations including Frisco Station and the Dallas Cowboys’ headquarters at The Star.
  • Houston: Links between George Bush Intercontinental Airport, William P. Hobby Airport, and Sugar Land Regional Airport, with connections to downtown destinations and Galveston.
  • Austin: A planned route connecting Austin-Bergstrom International Airport with the Circuit of the Americas helipad, home of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.

The Texas Triangle is home to more than 20 million residents, many of whom face chronic traffic congestion that costs the state billions of dollars in lost productivity each year.

Archer is also participating in the White House’s eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP), which supports the introduction of electric aircraft into the National Airspace System. The Midnight aircraft can reach speeds of approximately 150 mph, but it has not yet received full FAA type certification. A commercial launch date has not been specified.
