Over 340 Piper PA-46 Owners Converge in Colorado Springs for Annual Safety Convention
Earlier this month, the iconic Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado played host to more than 340 aviators for the 2026 PMOPA (Piper M-Class Owners & Pilots Association) Convention & Fly-In. This event is one of the most celebrated gatherings in general aviation. Over 100 Piper PA-46 aircraft were displayed at Cutter Aviation at Colorado Springs Municipal Airport (KCOS), showcasing the association’s passionate membership.
The event, held from October 8–11, 2026, brought together pilots, aircraft owners, manufacturers, and technical specialists for a weekend filled with discussions on safety, maintenance, and the future of the PA-46 family. This family includes models such as the Malibu, Mirage, M350, Meridian, M500, and M600.
The sessions covered a range of topics including:
- PA-46 safety lessons
- Advanced avionics
- Flight planning
- Automation best practices
A dedicated engineering forum also provided owners with direct access to Piper Aircraft representatives to discuss upcoming fleet enhancements.
One of the highlights of the convention was the recognition of more than 100 pilots through PMOPA’s prestigious Master Aviator Program. The convention’s gala and live auction raised over $160,000 for safety education, training, and scholarships through the PMOPA Safety & Education Foundation. This underlines the community’s commitment to investing in the future of aviation professionals.
PMOPA, formerly known as MMOPA, was founded in 1988 and now serves over 1,200 members worldwide.
