Cirrus TRAC10: The New Era of Flight School Training Now Accepting Global Orders

Cirrus Aircraft has announced the opening of its order books for the groundbreaking TRAC10 training aircraft. This brand-new design, specifically tailored for professional, collegiate, and career-oriented flight schools, has already received an overwhelming response from the industry. Over 100 aircraft have been ordered by 13 flight schools across the globe.

Unveiled on July 6, 2026, the TRAC10 is a three-seat aircraft powered by a robust 160-horsepower turbocharged Rotax 916 iSc FADEC engine. It boasts a state-of-the-art Garmin flight deck and is equipped with Cirrus’ signature Airframe Parachute System (CAPS). The aircraft’s fuel efficiency is impressive, burning as little as 5.9 gallons per hour at 65% cruise power. It can operate on a variety of fuel types, including 100LL avgas, unleaded 91/94, and select Mogas blends. This gives flight schools significant flexibility in managing fuel costs. The TRAC10, priced at $499,900, will be manufactured at the Cirrus headquarters in Duluth, Minnesota.

Deliveries within the U.S. are set to commence in 2027, with international deliveries following in 2028. AIN Online reported this week that the TRAC10 is now being showcased as the core aircraft for fleet training programs at partnering schools. With North America projected to need more than 130,000 new pilots over the next decade, the TRAC10 represents one of the most significant new trainer launches in years. It could potentially revolutionize the way the next generation of commercial pilots earn their wings.
