Revolution in Sun Care: Ultra Violette’s FDA-Approved SPF 50 Sunscreen Launches in the US
A significant advancement in American sun care is here. Ultra Violette, the renowned Australian suncare brand, is the first in the United States to introduce a sunscreen featuring Bemotrizinol (BEMT) — the initial UV filter to receive FDA approval in over 25 years.
The product, Unblock Screen™ SPF 50 Breakout-Friendly SKINSCREEN™, retailing at $40 for 50 mL, is now available on ultraviolettespf.com and Sephora.com. It will be available in Sephora stores nationwide from October 2, 2026. The FDA included Bemotrizinol in its OTC sunscreen monograph in June 2026, allowing its use in formulations at concentrations up to 6%.
Unblock Screen is specifically formulated for oily, acne-prone, and reactive skin. It combines BEMT with zinc oxide, sebum-regulating Bix’Activ®, and the plant-based hydrator Pentavitin — which supports skin hydration for up to 72 hours. The result is a whipped, soft-matte, pore-blurring texture with no white cast, housed in an innovative touchless, airless jar with a press-and-play feature.
