Introducing Garmin G2000 PRIME: The Future of Cockpit Technology for Piston Aircraft

Aviation technology pioneer, Garmin (NYSE: GRMN), has unveiled the G2000 PRIME—a top-tier integrated flight deck designed specifically for high-performance Class I/II piston and electric aircraft. This groundbreaking system, announced on July 16, 2026, builds upon the innovative features of the G3000 PRIME platform, previously exclusive to turbine aircraft, and now extends these advancements to the wider general aviation piston market.

The core of the G2000 PRIME consists of expansive 14-inch touchscreen primary display units (PDUs) with edge-to-edge, sunlight-readable, fingerprint-resistant glass. The system offers quadruple the memory and system connectivity that is 100 times faster than its predecessors, thanks to new multi-core processors that more than double the processing power of earlier models. It also provides a range of connectivity options, including LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, and Connext satellite services.

With safety as a priority, the G2000 PRIME supports Garmin’s comprehensive safety suite, which includes Garmin Autoland—the world’s first certified autonomous emergency landing system, Smart Glide, Electronic Stability Protection, Emergency Descent Mode, and Autothrottle. The updated flight management system features a Modified Flight Plan function and an Emergency Return feature for use shortly after takeoff. Aircraft manufacturers are anticipated to announce the first models scheduled to receive this revolutionary system soon.
