Boston Logan Introduces First-of-its-Kind Remote TSA ‘Straight-to-Gate’ Service in the U.S.

Boston Logan International Airport has proudly unveiled the first remote TSA checkpoint in the U.S. This revolutionary service enables travelers to bypass the conventional airport security line completely. The “Straight-to-Gate” pilot program, which kicked off on June 1, 2026, allows eligible Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways passengers to check in, drop off their luggage, and clear full TSA security at an off-site terminal in Framingham, Massachusetts, roughly 25 miles from Boston Logan Airport.

After clearance, travelers can hop onto a secure Landline shuttle bus for a mere $9 per adult (children under 17 travel for free) and be transported directly to the airside gates, avoiding all terminal queues. This program, a joint venture between Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), the TSA, and transportation company Landline, is accessible to all fare classes on both domestic and international flights, operating from 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The remote terminal also offers TSA PreCheck lanes.

The inception of this initiative was partly due to the historically high airport security wait times experienced this spring, a result of TSA staffing shortages during a partial government shutdown. Massport CEO Rich Davey envisions this pilot as a way to “reimagine the travel experience,” while Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey hails it as a “game-changer for many.” The pilot is set to run until August 31, 2026, with potential expansion to other airlines if successful.
