Princess Cruises Amplifies Singapore Hub with Over 150,000 Passengers by 2030
Singapore is fortifying its standing as Asia’s leading cruise tourism hub. This development comes in the wake of a significant three-year partnership between Princess Cruises and the Singapore Tourism Board. This alliance is set to usher more than 150,000 passengers into the city-state from 2027 to 2030.
The agreement, revealed on May 28, 2026, will see Princess Cruises station three vessels—Diamond Princess, Sapphire Princess, and Grand Princess—in Singapore over the span of three years. This collaboration is expected to double cruise sailings from Singapore by the decade’s end, mirroring the burgeoning confidence in Asia’s travel market.
The augmented fleet deployment will enable the cruise line to provide a wider array of voyages, ranging from 10 to 28 days. This expansion will facilitate travelers in exploring multiple destinations across Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia from a single homeport. Singapore’s role as a seasonal homeport for Princess Cruises is anticipated to draw a robust base of international cruise passengers, especially from mid- to long-haul markets such as Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Jean Ng, Assistant Chief Executive of Singapore Tourism Board’s Experience Development Group, expressed that the partnership underscores Singapore’s stature as Asia’s premier cruise hub. It also aligns with the Tourism 2040 vision to propel quality tourism growth. This deployment coincides with the escalating demand for cruise in Asia Pacific, spurred by rising wealth, a growing middle-class, and a keen interest in immersive travel experiences.
