Major Expansion of American Express Centurion Lounge Network at Key US Airports
American Express announced on April 1, 2026, a significant expansion of its premium Centurion Lounge network with three major projects at key U.S. airports. This move responds to the growing demand for luxury travel amenities among frequent flyers and international travelers.
The most ambitious project is a new two-story Centurion Lounge at Boston Logan International Airport, scheduled to open in 2029. The 20,000-square-foot facility will feature an outdoor terrace—Logan’s first open-air patio—inspired by Boston’s coastal charm and academic heritage. The lounge will include premium food and beverage options, dedicated workstations, and high-speed WiFi.
At Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, American Express will expand its existing Centurion Lounge by nearly 50%, adding new seating areas, a second full-service bar, and a walk-up ice cream window. The expansion is expected to be completed in 2027.
Additionally, Charlotte Douglas International Airport will receive a new Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge in 2027, the second location of this smaller, quick-stop lounge concept after Las Vegas.
These expansions strengthen American Express’s position as the largest issuer lounge network operator and address overcrowding issues at busy hub airports.
