Nvidia Foresees $1 Trillion in AI Chip Revenue by 2027

At the much-anticipated GTC 2026 conference held in San Jose on March 16, Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, made a bold announcement. He stated that the company projects to generate “at least” $1 trillion in revenue from its latest AI chips through 2027. This projection doubles previous estimates, highlighting the explosive growth in artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Addressing a full house at the SAP Center arena, Huang disclosed that the demand for Nvidia’s current Blackwell chips and next-generation Vera Rubin processors has exceeded expectations. This revelation comes at a time when the AI industry is shifting from training models to inference – the application of AI in real-world products and services.

“Finally, AI is able to do productive work, and therefore the inflection point of inference has arrived,” Huang told the audience at the event, often dubbed the “Super Bowl of AI.” In addition, the company unveiled the Groq 3 Language Processing Unit (LPU), its first chip from the startup it acquired for $20 billion in December. It also announced partnerships with major automakers, including Hyundai and BYD, for autonomous vehicle technology.

Nvidia’s graphics processing units have propelled the company to become the world’s most valuable public company, with an estimated worth of $4.5 trillion. In February, the chipmaker reported that its quarterly revenue would surge 77% year-over-year to roughly $78 billion, marking its 11th consecutive quarter of revenue growth above 55%.
